Command Palette Reference

Open the command palette with ctrl+p. Type to filter, j/k to move, Enter to run.

Commands marked with an asterisk (*) are only available in certain modes, noted in the description.


Notes

Command What it does
Notes: Open a Note Browse all notes in the vault and open one in the viewer
Notes: Create a new Note Prompt for a name and create a new note
Notes: Create a new Note from Template Prompt for a name and a template, then create the note with template content applied
Notes: Insert Template Pick a template and insert its content at the cursor position (Normal, Insert, Replace only)
Notes: Rename a Note Browse notes and rename the selected one; all links to it are rewritten automatically
Notes: Delete a Note Browse notes and permanently delete the selected one

Templates

Command What it does
Templates: Open a Template Browse templates and open one for editing
Templates: Create a new Template Prompt for a name and create a new empty template
Templates: Rename a Template Browse templates and rename the selected one
Templates: Delete a Template Browse templates and permanently delete the selected one

Journals

Command What it does
Journals: Open a Journal Open a date picker to browse and open any journal entry

Command What it does
Links: Insert Link to a Note or Journal Browse notes and journals; inserts a link to the selected one at the cursor (Normal, Insert, Replace only)
Links: Open a Link from current Note List all links in the current note; open whichever you select

Bookmarks

Command What it does
Bookmarks: Open a Bookmark Browse saved bookmarks and open the selected one
Bookmarks: Bookmark the current tab Save the current note as a named bookmark
Bookmarks: Edit all Bookmarks Open the bookmarks file directly for manual editing

Vaults

Command What it does
Vaults: Load a Vault Browse known vaults and switch to the selected one
Vaults: Create a new Vault Prompt for a path and create a new vault there

Themes

Command What it does
Themes: Change active Theme Browse available themes and apply the selected one immediately

Folds

These commands are only available in View mode.

Command What it does
Folds: Expand all Folds Expand every collapsed heading section in the current note
Folds: Collapse all Folds Collapse every heading section in the current note

Assets

Assets are files (images, PDFs, etc.) stored in your vault's assets/ folder or in a registered external directory.

Command What it does
Assets: Add File Register a file as a vault asset by path
Assets: Add File and Insert Link Register a file as an asset and insert a link to it at the cursor (Insert, Replace only)
Assets: Add File and Copy Link Register a file as an asset and copy the link to the clipboard
Assets: Open Asset Browse registered assets and open the selected one in the system default application
Assets: Add External Directory Register an external folder as a named asset directory, making its files accessible by @name/filename links

Editor

Command What it does
Convert Tabs to Spaces Replace all tab characters in the current file with spaces, using the configured tab_spaces width (Normal, Insert, Replace only)
