The Demo Vault
Fern ships with a ready-made demo vault you can explore without creating any notes of your own. It contains cross-linked example notes, sample journals, templates, and bookmarks that showcase most of Fern's features in one place.
Loading the demo vault
From the command line:
fern open ./demo
From inside Fern:
:vaultLoad ./demo
The path ./demo is relative to the directory where you cloned or installed
Fern. Use an absolute path if you run Fern from a different directory.
Where to start inside the demo
Open start-here.md in the sidebar. It gives you an orientation to the vault
and a short tour of the key features.
You can also open it directly from the command bar:
:bookmarkOpen start-here

original state, run :reload to discard unsaved changes, or restore the file
from version control.
